Crystal Right™ utilizes an ion exchange process for the elimination of iron, manganese, and hardness present in the water, and its minimum pH requirement is 6.0. It is most efficient with clear water, and ammonia, lead, hydrogen sulphide, and copper can also be reduced. The media bed can be sanitized with chlorine periodically, and the regeneration process is just like a water softener and requires regeneration with the use of salt (sodium chloride). CR100 is used where the pH is between 6 and 7 and will increase the pH. Crystal Right has a number of advantages over conventional systems in that pH correction, iron/manganese removal and softening can all be addressed in a single process and at lower pHs.

Requirements:
Combination of Manganese & Iron: Up to 15 PPM
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S): Less than 0.5 PPM
Hardness as CaCo3: >50 ppm minimum needed
Minimum TDS: 80 PPM
No aluminium should be present in feed water.
pH Range: 6-11
Iron must be in soluble ferrous form*

*Water containing ferrous iron is clear and colourless because the iron is completely dissolved.

Crystal Right is an ideal choice for applications where iron, manganese, and hardness require treatment, or where pH needs to be increased without installing an additional system, or when high backwashing rates can't be achieved, as are necessary with Filox or Birm.
